Windmills

The city of Palm Springs, California is home not only to your humble photographer, there are also thousands of windmills, and our enormous local mountains (like 10,000 feet) make a fantastic backdrop.

I like to go out taking photos of our local green energy excellence, and here is my most colorful set. The windmills are mostly in or near the San Gorgonio Mountain Pass which lies between Mount San Jacinto and Mount San Gorgonio, the two tallest local mountains. Of course it is the presence of this mountain pass between two tall mountain ranges that causes the steady winds. It's all about location, location, location.
